Helpful guide. Just going to apply this on my timeline. Thanks for it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by..I am so glad that you liked it.
DeleteWith Regards.
This guide doesnt actually work.
ReplyDeleteFor a proper working solution, simply install the safe and free "FB Purity" browser extension, it will hide all facebook ads, and also the "suggested posts" and "suggested pages".
It works like a dream, and is highly recommended by me and thousands of other users.
You can get it here: http://www.fbpurity.com
@ Anonymous, Whoever you are. I feel sorry that it doesn't works for you. I also published a guide for fb purity, you can check it at:
DeleteHow To Disable Facebook Timeline With FB Purity This extension is available for both Mozilla and Firefox browsers.
Thanks for your feedback. Hope you'll find that guide useful.
With Regards.
My computer become slow down using any extension :( I just used adblocker once...
Deleteno instant personalizatin any more.. this doesnt work
DeleteInstant Personalisation isn't available for all users, including me, but we still see suggested posts. Maybe disabling it may help in some instances, but it's not the answer to getting rid of all suggested posts.
ReplyDeleteThe only answer is to contact the companies whose suggested posts appear on your news feed and tell them that they are wasting their money advertising with FB, as their ad placement and target demographics are usually woefully incorrect.
Thanks Fenny for your Suggestion. Above method Worked fine for me. But as now i have seen, The Suggestions are started again. Its so bad for Facebook that they are filling their Website with Annoying Advertisements. At least they should give an option to Turn Off Facebook Suggested Pages.
DeleteIs this woman for real?
DeleteIt is insulting that every time a 'suggested' group of ads appear, the first one is for a religion. Facebook supporting advertising by religions? How irresponsible!
Totally agree what Alien said, I hate religion especially islam. But FB suggestion page always appear islam religion advertising(look like muslim like flood their religion everywhere and pages)which make me feel disgust. FB should let people choice to setting what we want to read the page, not religion which promote anywhere without asking.
Deletewow
ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked it.
DeleteThis was a big help thank you : )
ReplyDeleteYou are Welcome, Dear Simons. Keep visiting.
DeleteDoesn't work. Mine wasn't even on and I still get them.
ReplyDeleteSorry Sylvia, But that is all that i know about them. It is Facebook which can solve this problem. I think they are getting a huge amount of money from Advertisers for annoying their users with such Spam.
DeleteI agree, mine was not even on and I am getting many suggested pages that are absolutely nothing I have any interest in. Went thru and deleted them all, and upon next check they were all back.......very frustrating and in some cases very embarrassing!
DeleteMy account already had Instant Personalization unchecked, but I was still getting suggested posts. Obviously FB doesn't want us to disable this spam feature. I barely use FB anyway, just to occasionally check on family and friends.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems like FB don't care about its users anymore. Me also started using Google+. Its UI is great and the big thing is that all accounts are genuine and not fake like Facebook profiles. :)
DeleteInstant personalization is not there any more. The settings are so dumbed down now. the user has very little control anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes Dear....Hope Facebook will do something in this regard.
DeleteMine says 'Note: instant personalisation is not yet available for you.' and I am not allowed to uncheck the 'enabled' box. :(
ReplyDeleteHmm..Really frustrating..I think now we need to switch to G+ or Twitter :).
DeleteI've had that unchecked for ages yet I still get the annoying suggestions. Each time I get one I report it as spam and when Facebook asks why I'm not interested I reply with 'because I'm not an idiot, I know how to read and I know how to decide for myself what I do and don't like. What I would really like is for them to go back to the basic fun system it was in the beginning and to just back off and let me choose who I do and don't like.' I know they don't care and they probably never even see it but I get so fed up with their suggestions. They're treating us all like idiots who can't think for ourselves. If I was smart enough to find Facebook then I'm smart enough to find the pages I like without their annoying suggestions!
ReplyDeleteMy issue is that I'm getting suggestions like Maxin. Playboy (from every country), etc.! I have installed FB Purity on my desktop and it works great, HOWEVER my mobile app is still infested with this junk! How do I rid myself of this on the Android app???
ReplyDeleteHello Jason,
DeleteAlthough, I am not sure about your device, but I think you should try Adblocker App for your device. That can be helpful in disabling the suggested pages and all that kind of crap on your mobile. I hope the FB Purity will launch an application for Android soon.
Thanks and Regards.
These comments are all well and good, but none have them have solved the problem. I have just wasted lots of time getting nowhere... Why waffle if you're not going to offer a solution?
ReplyDeleteBlame to Facebook Bro, We have offered the solution and it did worked before but it is not anymore. I am really sorry for that.
DeleteNo more facebook spam! Thank you
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteI am getting FarmVille 2 promotions every time I click a FarmVille post of a friend to help. It only just began with the new feed change. How can I get rid of this? I blocked this game and other, but an still getting invitations.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to delete EVERY suggestion and when I get to the screen where it asks me why I check the worst suggestion they have. If they are going to force me to look at this stuff I will mess with their statistics and give inaccurate data...
ReplyDeleteI've done it twice as you say. BOTH times failed. And the REMOVE 'X' that facebook provides is faulty too - every time I remove GEORGE 'bloody' TAKEI - he comes back again.... and so do many others keep coming every single day. Facebook 'wake up' you are pissing people off with offering to remove things and failing to do so.... Recommendations are so bogus. All FB do is forward EVERYTHING that a FRIEND has looked at or ticked LIKE, plus a load of random crap. One FRIEND REQUEST was in foreign language and had a man's genitals as a profile picture. A child could get this ?????? Offensive Facebook.
ReplyDeleteOnly hypocrites make people use apps they dislike, don't want. Suggest Edits operates on its own, proving this is an intrusion of privacy. Hypocrites allow this, and deserve to be judged by courts for their actions.
DeleteI have no settings as explained. Worthless!
ReplyDeleteMe too.
DeleteOnly hypocrites make people use things they dislike, don't need, nor want. It's also an intrusion on their privacy, since the Suggest Edits app acts on its own, without the input of the users.
ReplyDeleteI got to step 4 and the current version of FB does not have 'Instant Personalization' on the screen. Are there updated instructions to remove Suggested Groups from the FB app running on an iPad?
ReplyDeleteI follow the instructions to step 4 but the current version of FB does not have 'Instant Personalization' on the page indicated. Do you have updated instructions to remove Suggested Groups from iPad FB app?
